Action 2 - Affordable Tottenham - Anna Maly

One point I critisized about the Project is, that they say it will be very multicultural, that there live people who speak over 200 different languages, but they never mention HOW they want them to live together.
You can’t say, well they are all poor so they will be a community. You can’t expect the people to live together without a concept. A Persian guy and an Irish guy wont just be best friends, because they are neighboors and they both don’t earn much money.
So I was thinking about what brings people together, like really together, not only physically. That’s why I want to improve the work/living buildings. I want them to be the place for a “SHARING IS CARING”-exchange and borrow market.
I think the people can improve their life in affordable Tottenham by sharing their things or even share their free time. Examples how I imagine it:
The Persian family has 3 rice cookers but they only need one, so they give 2 of them to other families, for free.
The father of the English family has a car but he only needs it twice a day to go to work and to come back, so he borrows his car in the times he doesn’t need it. Then the Italian guy can drive his son to the basketball training.
The Indian woman only works Mondays and Tuesdays and the other days of the week she brings her children to the playground. She can also have an eye on the children of the American Family and in exchange the American woman helps her children with their homework after school, because she helps her children anyway.
This are only a few examples I imagined, there are many more possibilities.
