Anni, Anna, Bianca - Work progress

Last Tuesday we talked with Antonio about our project. After we explained our idea and how the pavilion should be built he gave us the advice to hide some strong material in the papier maché to get a better structure. 

 

We also did a step for step description how to build our pavilion.

 

 

 

We recognized that maybe our demonstration of the pavilion´s exterior form is a little bit misleading. We don´t want to create single domes which everybody can use as they want. Our aim is to create a pavilion which fits perfectly into its enviromant without harming the nature. Using natural gaps, our pavilion starts to grow with the nature and can be developed in many different situations. Similiar to Praeda Poole, our pavilion can be build out of Foil, used as an basic construction. This way of work allows to generate different design options.

after finding our representativ shape, defining our pavilion and think about the details, it was time to try building a part of the facade of our pavilion to see if everything works like we imagen. So we collected on Wednesday and Thursday as many materials as posible (manly cardboard) and started to build the first part of our facade on Friday using wallpaper glue, water and cardboard to work with papier maché. After some first difficulties we found our rythmus and it worked really well. The only problem we have is that the papier mache needs at least 1 day till it´s dry and you can add more layers. 

So our aim till Tuesday is: worke on the model (we want to present the finished one on friday), action drawings (what happens on the inside of the pavilion) and a exterior action.
